National Cadet Corps (NCC)

About NCC 

National Cadet Corps (NCC)  is a Tri-Services Organisation , comprising Army, Navy and Air Force, engaged in grooming the youth of the country into disciplined and patriotic citizens. During the Independence movement, leaders of our nation had realised the need to create a national level youth organisation, to train and groom young boys and girls as responsible citizens and future leaders of our great country in all walks of life, including the defence forces. The first Prime Minister of India, Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru presided over the function of raising the first NCC Unit at Delhi on the last Sunday of Nov 1948 . This day is traditionally celebrated as the 'NCC Day' .

NCC at MBPG 

Two separate wings of NCC exist in MBPG  College Haldwani for boys and girls. The boys wing has 150 seats and the girls wing has 55 seats. Admissions are granted on the basis of physical fitness and extra-curricular achievements. 75 per cent presence in the NCC parades is mandatory.  Air wing has been alloted 100 seats  in the college for Boys and Girls. To strengthen the idea of Youth development, College is offering NCC as a proficiency course from 1st year to final year. College strongly supports financially and morally to all the activities of NCC being held in the college. While pursuing the course, NCC cadets undergo different training programs as Drill, Shooting, Physical Fitness, Map Reading, First Aid, Basic Military Training in Army. Cadets can also participate in youth exchange program to increase international understanding and bolster awareness.

Certificate Examination

B-Certificate:
B certificate examination can be written by SD/SW cadets of NCC, cadets after class 10 & those studying for +2, +3 (degree). In the second year of training, they can appear for the same. The candidate must have attended a minimum 75% of total training periods laid down in the syllabus for the first & second years of SD/SW NCC (All Wings). He/she must have attended one Annual Training Camp/National integrity Camp. Cadets possessing 'A' certificate will be awarded 10 bonus marks.

C-Certificate:
It is the most important certificate for NCC cadet. Now it can be written in the 3rd year of training, in the 3rd year of degree course / those having B certificate can write it in the first year after his +2 and in the 1st year of degree by SD/ SW cadets only. The candidate must be possessing, a 'B' certificate, must have attended two ATCs or one ATC and in addition to it RD Camp Delhi, Centrally Organized Camp, Para Training Camp, Attachment Training with service units, National Integration Camp, Youth Exchange Programme.
