Anti Drug Committee

An Anti-drug cell has been constituted in the college principally to raise awareness about the menace of drug abuse amongst the youth. The cell remains the first of its kind to be established in any of the academic institutes within the State of Uttarakhand. The prime feature of this cell is that it is the only statutory body in the college, which has a Sub-divisional Magistrate (SDM), Haldwani, Deputy Superintendent of Police (C.O, City), and District Social Welfare Officer, Haldwani, as advisors. The Cell's prime objective is not just to raise awareness about drug abuse, but also to assist the victims in their fight against drug abuse, towards the overall amelioration of this menace. The Cell is managed as per the guidelines of the Narcotic Drug and Psychotropic Substances Act (1985), which also includes the provisions such as meting out punishments. Towards raising awareness workshops are conducted from time to time inviting resource persons, such as from Judiciary, and the Police department, as well as advocates.
