Department of Mathematics came into existence in the year 1982 with under graduate courses. Currently department follows the curriculum of Kumaun University, Nainital. Post graduate courses in M.A and M.Sc. started in the year 1989. Since then the Department has made a remarkable progress in teaching and research in various branches of Mathematics. It has earned National & International recognition in research in the fields of Integral Transform, Fluid Dynamics, operation research, Differential geometry and manifolds.

The Department has active groups of researcher consisting of teachers and research scholars in Applied Mathematics. The Department has produced more than 15 Ph.D. students who got placement at respectable positions in teaching, research and administrative organizations.

Currently, there are 7 faculty members are working, 6 students are enrolled under doctoral program, 200 students are enrolled in M.A/ M.Sc courses and about 1500 are enrolled in B.A/ B.Sc. courses. Our faculty members are specialized in various areas of applied and pure mathematics.

Major Achievements/strong points of Departments

  • More than 50 research papers are published in n International and National Journals of very high impact factor in last five years
  • About more than 10 students of Department have cleared NET/JRF /GATE/ USET and other national level examination in the last five years
  • No. of Ph.D. Awarded in last five years is 4
  • Department faculties have earned many awards for teaching and research activities in recent years
