Achievements of department
World Biodiversity Day was celebrated in Department of Botany MBGPG College Haldwani on 22 May 2024.
A chart competition was held in Department with title Let us conserve Biodiversity. Over 37 postgraduate students of Botany participated in the event.They presented their charts on the Biodiversity conservation.The event was judged by Dr Narendra Sijwali from Maths Department, Prof Asha Tiwari and Dr Hemlata from Botany department. Programme was organised by Dr Nirmala Pargaien,under guidance of Prof Prem Prakash, Head of Botany department.
In this competition Bhuwan Chandra got first position, Bhumika Bisht and Geeta Mehra got second and Aayush Vishwakarma, Mayank Palariya were in third position. The programme was concluded by vote of thanks from Prof Prem Prakash.

Awareness Cum Quiz Competition- related to government's public welfare schemes was held in Department of Botany, M.B.G.P.G College Haldwani on 15.03.2024.
The programme was focused on students preparing for Civil Services examinations and UGC-NET/CSIR-NET examinations.
The programme was organised by Prof. Neeta Pandey, Head of Botany department and Director Higher education Prof. C.D. Suntha was the Chief Guest.
Prof. N. S. Bankoti, Principal M.B.G.P.G. College presided the programme and motivated students to constantly focus on preparation for competitive exams. He also emphasized the need of carrer counseling.
Prof. R. S. Bhakuni Deputy Director delivered a lecture informing students about various government schemes for students preparing for competitive examinations. The schemes for students of government colleges/schools passing/preparing for Civil Services. NDA, CDS etc exams were explained. The university toppers at undergraduate and postgraduate level are rewarded with scholarships. Schemes for SC/ST/OBC students were also explained.
A quiz was on the schemes was held in second session and winners were announced. The programme was compered by Dr Naval Kishore Lohani.Prof Pankaj Kumar, Prof. Prem Prakash, Prof. Asha Tiwari, Dr Sanjay Kumar, Dr Nirmala Pargaien and Dr Hemlata also participated in programme.

National Science Day was celebrated in Department of Botany in MBGPG Haldwani on 28 February2024.
The programme was organised by Dr. Nirmala Pargaien, under guidance of Prof. Neeta Pande, Head of Botany; to promote scientific temperament among students.Over 45 postgraduate students of Botany participated in the event. They presented their views on the science day.
On this occasion Eminent Scientist Prof. Jyoti Saxena from Dwarahat Engineering College delivered lecture on developing Scientific skills and promoted students to be the Scientists of future.
Prof. Asha Tiwari, Prof. Prem Prakash Dr. Sanjay Kumar and Dr. Hemlata Danu of Botany department participated in programme to make it a success.
